Nomination Process

The nominations are for initiatives in Canada, and are open to all citizens of Canada. The nomination should be based on accomplishments in the year 2007. Posthumous nominations may be received in the year in which the person has died. The in motion Russ Kisby Physical Activity Leadership Award will be:

  • Presented to an outstanding individual, group or organization who is a leader in the successful advancement of physical activity
  • Demonstrated excellence in the areas of advocacy, partnership development, and/or the provision of quality, innovative programming.
  • Made a long-term contribution to improving the health and well-being of a community through physical activity

The selection committee reserves the right to select more than one recipient or to not select a recipient in any given year. The Application Packet Must:

  • Contain the PDF Icon Nomination Form (PDF 30.5KB)
  • Provide a resume that briefly lists achievements and awards as it relates to physical activity.
  • Contain a one-page summary of why you or your organization should be considered for the leadership award. (Examples might include: community work, committee service, training or leadership conducted, awards received and grants awarded.)
  • Provide 3 names of supporters/references who are familiar with the applicant and the activities related to physical activity. Provide a name, address, phone number and email address (where possible). These references may be contacted by the review committee.

The nomination form and background information must be submitted to in motion no later then March 30th, 2008 to:
